Always Sunny with Becca the Sun, Instagram Blogger and YouTuber

During our time in Chiang Mai, we were regularly attending Muay Thai gym Boon Lanna Muay Thai. One day, during training, I saw Becca whip out her camera on a tripod and start vlogging. As a hobbiest YouTuber myself, I shyly walked up to her and asked, "Hey, are you a YouTuber?" She smiled and enthusiastically replied, "Yes!"

Becca is body-positive lifestyle Instagram Blogger and is also working on a self-published book and podcast. She was looking for some new photos for her blog and Instagram account, so we planned a photoshoot at Chiang Mai University.

When we got there, it was pouring rain. Thailand during monsoon season is a tricky season to plan outdoor shoots. I was really hoping for some creamy sunset golden hour light, given my client's Instagram handle is @BeccaTheSun after all. We waited out the rain, and although we didn't that golden hour glow, we got beautiful, overcast, diffused light, which is super flattering for lifestyle shoots.

Our first location was shot in a garage, while it was half-sun and half-raining outside. I loved the way that Becca's orange shirt popped against the paint-splattered neutrals of the ground.

Once the rain stopped, we started walking up towards the lake. Along the way, we stopped to take some photos on the street, using the concrete as contrast with Becca's bright top.

Once we made it up to the lake, we paused for an outfit change. The lake area at Chiang Mai University has some great pathways full of bright orange flowers and the lake is surrounded by low rising mountains. It's a beautiful location for a photoshoot!

As we were shooting the last set of photos, we heard thunder roar in the distance. We knew we had a limited period of time before it started to downpour again. Becca changed into her third outfit and we ran (literally) to the dock area for our third set of photos.

When we were done shooting, it started to rain. Perfect timing! Overall, the day went smoothly and we had a lot of fun while shooting these photos. We laughed, danced to music, and got creative with different poses and locations. Becca was a fantastic client to work with and we're looking forward to working with her again in the future!
